HomeGrown – DMV TV’s 1st Original ProCast (podcast)

Homegrown

HomeGrown is now living’ on DMV TV

Well it’s all we can do.

What

Growing Some HomeGrown at your Home

The mediocre podcast is available on all streaming platforms other than Vizio. Something we are still trying to work on. But if you can stand the first episode Episode 2 – we delve into just …whatever I guess. If it’s entertaining you for at least five minutes that’s all that we really want and can crawl back into our mothers, until the next episodic podcast. There are only two shows you can watch at the time of this article.

Who was the first guest?

Lee. The first test was homegrown Lee. His family has a lot of connections to Virginia and the other parts of the DMV region. I think we do a good job at exploring and how much has changed since our ancestors settled down in old Duke. It was a good time and a purposeful guest to have in the first episode. For about 50 minutes, we do a little eating, a little laughing, a lotta jibber jabber. So thank you for taking a look at a very very new show.

What’s this show about?

Overall is just another entertainment show but also the first original show featured exclusively on DMV TV. We don’t really have a format and we’re not really trying to go anywhere. It’d be great to have really anyone on it as long as they can take a joke. It’s not really meant to be taken seriously in a time where everyone takes themselves way too serious. So kick back and relax, grab some popcorn, or put it on while driving home from a job that pays more than this podcast pays me (nuttin. any sponsors out there?)

Why have podcast become so popular?

Podcasts have become increasingly popular for several reasons, contributing to their widespread appeal and success. Here are some key factors:

  1. Accessibility: Podcasts are easily accessible to a global audience. Anyone with an internet connection can download or stream podcasts on various platforms, making it convenient for people to consume content on the go.
  2. Diverse Content: Podcasts cover a wide range of topics and genres, catering to diverse interests. Whether it’s news, storytelling, education, entertainment, or niche subjects, there is likely a podcast that caters to individual preferences.
  3. Convenience: Podcasts offer a convenient way to consume content during daily activities such as commuting, exercising, or doing household chores. Unlike video content, which demands visual attention, podcasts allow for a more flexible and multitasking-friendly experience.
  4. Low Barrier to Entry: Creating and producing a podcast has become relatively easy and cost-effective. As a result, there’s a vast array of content produced by individuals and organizations of varying sizes, contributing to the diversity of available content.
  5. Personal Connection: Podcasts often create a sense of intimacy and connection between the hosts and listeners. The conversational format allows listeners to feel like they are part of a community or engaged in a one-on-one conversation with the hosts.
  6. Long-form Content: Podcasts often provide in-depth discussions and long-form content that may not be suitable for shorter formats like radio or TV. This allows for a more thorough exploration of topics, fostering a deeper connection with the audience.
  7. Mobile Technology: The proliferation of smartphones and other portable devices has played a significant role in the podcast’s popularity. With mobile apps, listeners can easily subscribe, download, and listen to episodes at their convenience.
  8. Monetization Opportunities: As podcasts have gained popularity, there are more opportunities for content creators to monetize their shows through advertising, sponsorships, and listener support. This has attracted both independent creators and established media companies to the podcasting space.
  9. Adaptability: Podcasts can adapt to changing listener preferences and trends. Creators can experiment with different formats, styles, and content, keeping the medium fresh and relevant.
  10. Discoverability: Podcast platforms often use algorithms and recommendations to help users discover new shows based on their interests. This makes it easier for listeners to find content that aligns with their preferences.
